Bread for the World and Bread for the World Institute are committed to the highest level of financial efficiency and accountability. Each organization is audited annually by an independent auditor and they have received very favorable ratings from other organizations.
Charity Navigator awarded Bread for the World Institute their highest rating of four stars, indicating that Bread "outperforms the majority of nonprofits in America with respect to fiscal responsibility. This 'exceptional' designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Bread for the World Institute from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."
The American Institute of Philanthropy, a nationally prominent charity watchdog service, ranks Bread for the World as one of the top-rated charities in the country.
In addition, Bread for the World received the Independent Charities Seal of Excellence, awarded to the members of Independent Charities of America that have been able "to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness."
