The Gathering 2007

Calling All Students and Leaders in Your 20s and 30s
You Are the Change the World's Been Waiting For

Join in The Gathering 2007
Sowing Seeds: Growing a Movement

But the LORD answered me, "Say not, 'I am too young.'  To whomever I send you, you shall go; whatever I command you, you shall speak."
Jeremiah 1:7

For college students, seminarians and leaders in your 20s and 30s, Bread for the World provides a powerful way to speak out and advocate on behalf of hungry and poor people in the United States and around the world.  Bread for the World advocates of all ages organize initiatives on campuses, at seminaries and in their churches.  You bring passion, imagination and ideas to the ONE Campaign, the Micah Challenge and a host of local, national and international faith-based movements aimed at ending hunger, poverty and disease.

This year Bread for the World and our partner denominations and religious organizations are committed to bringing hundreds of young leaders to The Gathering 2007. The Gathering will mobilize, energize, and train younger advocates, giving you the skills and relationships to work for change once you return home.

Features of The Gathering 2007:

Affordability.  A work exchange program pdf is available to help keep the cost of participating down.

A commitment to feature and support young leaders, your work, vision and ideas in all the sessions of The Gathering 2007.

Fellowship Circles for campus leaders and young professionals on the first night of The Gathering 2007. This is a time to share your questions and interests and get to know each other.

Pre-Conference Sessions on Saturday, June 9 for Seminarians and First-Time Attendees.

The kind of "Conversation Space" that leaves room for networking, sharing best practices, and forging lasting relationships.

Capacity Building. Hands-on sessions with seasoned organizers and leaders in anti-hunger and anti-poverty advocacy.

Social and relational opportunities including a 24-hour Coffee House, great music and an outdoor concert on Sunday, June 10.
