In the Media

Generating local media attention to hunger issues is one of the most powerful ways we can build the political will to end hunger. Whether you live in a major metropolitan area like New York City or a small town like Minot, North Dakota, the impact of media attention to hunger cannot be overstated. Visit Breadblog to read one media advocate’s Offering of Letters-to-the-Editor.

Some of Bread for the World's legislative victories simply would not have occurred without media attention. Media shapes the debate on national policy issues like farm bill reform and the effectiveness of foreign aid. Every member of Congress relies on local media to gauge public opinion on legislation and determine their constituents' priorities.

One letter to the editor in a local newspaper can exponentially multiply the power of an individual’s voice. Send an email to our Grassroots Media Associate, Shawnda Hines, to find out how you can get involved.
