  • With health care cost for employed people rising, unemployment escalating during the current recession and many poor people falling through the cracks in health care coverage, it is time for the nation to look again at ways to provide affordable health care to all (Hunger Report 2002, Page 61)

  • The U.S. Government, working with private and non-profit providers, should ensure affordable, universal health care by developing cost-effective solutions (Hunger Report 2000, Page 50).
