On July 6, 2012, Circle of Protection leaders invited the presidential candidates – President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney – to submit short video statements on hunger and poverty.
These leaders emphasized that God holds nations accountable for how they treat those Jesus called "the least of these" (Matthew 25:45). "We believe that this presidential campaign should include a clear focus on what each candidate proposes to do to provide help and opportunity for hungry and poor people in the United States and around the world," they wrote.
The Circle of Protection does not support, oppose, or in any way endorse any candidate for presidential or any elections. The participation of President Obama and Governor Romney does not offer or imply an endorsement of the positions taken by the Circle of Protection or its members.
