Lobbying isn't always a bad thing

Statesman Journal (Salem, Oregon)

March 9, 2008

Lobbying does not have to be a bad word as Charles Krauthammer suggests. It is bad when huge sums of money are part of the package. But every citizen can lobby his or her congressmen.

I belong to Bread for the World, which speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves. This year it is asking Congress to pass the Global Poverty Act.

Much can be done with a stamp or phone call.
