Save the Date—Bread for the World Sunday
Thousands of congregations will observe Bread for the World Sunday on Sunday, October 16 (also World Food Day), or another Sunday this fall. It's an opportunity for congregations to renew their commitment to ending hunger and poverty. Bread for the World Sunday resources will include a study of Matthew 22:15-22 by Donald Senior, CP, a noted biblical scholar and president of Catholic Theological Union, and a litany and prayers by Rev. Michelle Baker-Wright, director of the chapel at Fuller Theological Seminary and assisting priest at St. James' Episcopal Church in Pasadena, CA. Congregations also will be able to use Marty Haugen's song, "Bread for the World," at no charge. For more information, visit www.bread.org/sunday.
Double Your Financial Impact This Summer
Help us form a circle of protection around programs for hungry people during these fierce budget debates. Gifts from you and other Bread members between now and August 31 will be matched—dollar for dollar up to $105,000—in support of our work. Thanks to generous Bread for the World members, your gift of $25 becomes $50, and a gift of $100 becomes $200. Please visit www.bread.org/go/summermatch. Take advantage of this special opportunity to double the impact of your gift.
