  • Register Now for Bread's 2014 National Gathering

    There is still time to register for Bread for the World's 2014 National Gathering at Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center in Washington, D.C., June 9-10. The gathering will feature exciting speakers, new learnings, and inspiring worship. Gathering participants will be part of the celebration of Bread's 40th anniversary at a festive dinner on Monday evening, June 9. The gathering will conclude with Lobby Day with visits to members of Congress on Tuesday, June 10. Information on the gathering and lodging, the schedule, and registration are at www.bread.org/40. Registration for the gathering is $40 per person by May 6 and $80 per person after May 6. Hotel reservations may be made by phone by calling 888-902-1606 or you can book a room online. A special rate of $169 per night is available for reservations made by May 6.

    Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN)

    Bread for the World is part of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN), a coalition of international development and foreign policy practitioners, policy advocates and experts, concerned citizens, and private sector organizations. MFAN has released a new policy paper that presents a new agenda for the group and explains its belief that country ownership and accountability are powerful and mutually reinforcing pillars that will make U.S. aid more effective in helping developing countries become prosperous.     The communications work of Bread for the World and Bread for the World Institute was recognized in April for its high quality by the Religion Communicators Council. The 85-year-old organization honors its active members every year with the DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards for excellence in religious communications and public relations.
