Bread Slices

August 2013

Bread for the World Christmas cards are now available in our online store.

Still Time to Order Materials for Bread for the World Sunday!

There’s still time to order resource materials for your church’s celebration of Bread for the World Sunday this fall. Many churches are planning events for October 20, but other churches will select dates in November or early December.

You may order free copies of worship bulletin inserts and pew/offering envelopes. A new resource kit includes a lectionary study of Luke 18:1-8 by Dr. Greg Carey, professor of New Testament at Lancaster Theological Seminary. These items — along with PowerPoint slides, additional prayers, and other resources — can be viewed and downloaded at www.bread.org/sunday.

To make sure your supplies arrive in time, please place your order now — online or by calling 1-800-822-7323, ext. 1072.

Join Bread for the World's Baker's Dozen Program

Bread for the World continues to win victories for hungry people because you and other members—along with Bread for the World staff—write, call, and visit senators and representatives every week and every month of the year.

This persistence is possible, in part, because of the Baker’s Dozen giving program. When you become part of Baker’s Dozen and make automatic monthly gifts via credit card, check, or electronic funds transfer, the money you save us in processing equals the value of a 13th gift.

This steady stream of giving enables Bread for the World to plan ahead and operate efficiently. Sign up today by visiting www.bread.org/bakersdozen or calling toll-free 1-800-822-7323, ext. 1140.
