Now more than ever, we lift our voices together.
As we embark on Bread for the World’s 50th anniversary, we’ll gather in Washington, D.C., to raise a collective, faith-filled voice to end hunger. Your voice—your presence—has never been more needed. Policies impacting hunger are shifting rapidly, and your advocacy can help ensure that children and families don’t fall through the cracks.
Participants will:
- Learn about current legislation focused on child nutrition and global food security
- Receive practical training to effectively speak with your members of Congress
- Worship with Bread advocates from across the country
- Meet directly with lawmakers and push for change
- Celebrate 50 years of faithful advocacy—and help shape the future of this movement

Special Guest Speaker: Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, President & CEO,
ONE Campaign
Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli has over 25 years of international development experience and has been deeply involved in fostering impactful solutions in the global social innovation landscape, with a focus on Africa. She will speak during the General Session/Plenary on June 10.
Preachers: Revs. Jeanette and Gabriel Salguero, Co–Pastors, The Gathering
Reverends Jeanette and Gabriel Salguero are influential leaders in faith–based advocacy and multicultural ministry, co–pastoring The Gathering Place, a vibrant, multi–ethnic congregation in Florida. The Salgueros are nationally recognized for their commitment to justice, faith, and community empowerment. They will speak during Worship on June 11.
What To Expect
Day 1
June 9 – Pre-Summit Sessions
Before the main program begins on Day 2, we will host invitation-only sessions on Day 1. The Pan African Consultation and Latino Convening groups will gather faith and community leaders around Food Insecurity in Pan-African/Black and Latino Communities.
Bread’s Development Team and Board of Directors will also host invitation-only gatherings.

Day 2
June 10 – Legislative Policy Panels & Advocacy Training
Sessions will provide critical information and updates on policies and programs impacting access to food. Participants will be equipped to lead effective meetings with their members of Congress and staff.
Day 3
June 11 – Lobby Day
On the last day of the Summit, we will implement knowledge and training from previous days and use our collective voice to ask members of Congress to help give struggling families in the U.S. and around the world a chance at a healthy and prosperous life through policy change.
After a day of lobby visits, we will hold a reception honoring congressional leaders from both parties who have helped advance legislation that decreases hunger.
Throughout all three days there will be time for fellowship, worship and networking with like-minded advocates and hunger policy experts.
Why Attend
Bread for the World believes that human beings, created in the image of God, should have access to sufficient nutritious food. But one in three people suffer from poor nutrition. One in ten people go to bed hungry each night. It doesn’t have to be this way. By advocating for hunger-centric laws and policies, Bread for the World can move our nation and world closer to the end of hunger.
Who Should Attend
All anti-hunger advocates are welcome. Those who want to celebrate Bread’s 50th anniversary among other Bread supporters.

The event will be held at two locations in Washington, DC: Museum of the Bible and the U.S. Senate and House Office Buildings on Capitol Hill.

These lodging facilities are suggested, not required. Attendees can reserve their own hotel rooms anywhere in the Washington, DC metro area. The Wharf and Capitol Hill neighborhoods are both nearby.
While this year’s event will be hosted over three days in celebration of Bread’s 50th Anniversary, we encourage all registrants to review the schedule and determine a personal itinerary that best suits your interests and logistical needs.
