In most cultures, food is the hallmark of celebrations, and we should feel no remorse in enjoying the pleasures of a good meal surrounded by those we love, especially during the holiday season. However, we should be mindful and give thanks, because too many people around the world are celebrating at empty tables.
Today is #GivingTuesday, and I hope you will choose to support Bread for the World’s work to advocate for hungry people. Thanks to Rick Steves, travel host and an incredibly generous Bread member, all donations made this #GivingTuesday will be matched, up to $250,000.
- “Rick Steves’ European Christmas” DVD (a PBS-TV special celebrating a traditional, non-commercial, and sacred Christmas in seven different countries)
- “Rick Steves’ European Christmas” coffee table book (includes fun insights and best photos gathered while producing the PBS-TV special)
- “Rick Steves’ European Christmas” music CD (features 20 favorite European carols)
I hope you will take advantage of his generous offer. Your #GivingTuesday gift will have double the impact, and will help us continue advocating for critical programs that are a lifeline to millions of families struggling with hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world.
Hundreds have already made a contribution. I hope you will too.
