Almighty God. As we remember today the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we pray for your peace that surpasses all understanding in the families of those who lost loved ones, friends, and co-workers. We also ask for that peace in the lives of the first responders, whom many today are still carrying physical and emotional wounds.
We pray for the peace of our nation, and all nations.
As the Psalmist, we pray asking you to “be gracious to us and bless us and make [your] face to shine upon us, that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations.”
It is in you that we find refuge and strength, comfort and peace, and trusting your promises we commend this prayer into your loving heart.
