This is Bread for the World’s Week of Prayer to End Hunger in partnership with the OurPrayer Ministry of Guideposts. Hundreds of people have been sharing their prayers for a world without hunger.

This collaboration is built on the hope of amplifying our petition to God to end hunger in our lifetimes. We believe God is acting in our time to bring about justice and using us to bring about this change.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” These are Paul’s words to the Romans in chapter 12, urging them to renew and transform their way of thinking to discern and experience God’s will.

Prayer is an important part of discernment, and so we continue to pray this week for:

  • all people who experience hunger, that God would fill them with good things
  • the Church in the U.S. and around the world, that we would raise a chorus of prophetic voices echoing God’s call for justice and an end to hunger
  • our elected officials in Congress, that they would hear God’s call to end hunger and poverty voiced by so many

When Jesus taught us about prayer, he kept things simple but included a call for the full realization of God’s vision for the world: “Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.” Here at Bread for the World, we want to pray that same prayer faithfully and persistently

We hope you will join us this week in lifting up:

  • all people who experience hunger, that God would work to fill them with good things
  • the Church in the U.S. and around the world, that we would raise a chorus of prophetic voices echoing God’s call for justice and an end to hunger
  • our elected official in Congress, that they would hear God’s call to end hunger and poverty voiced by so many.

It’s not too late to participate in our Week of Prayer to End Hunger, October 12-18. Here’s how you can participate:
