James B. Walker is Presiding Bishop of the Seventh Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church. 

Walker formerly served as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Phillips School of Theology and interim Dean of the Hartford Theological Seminary. He was pastor of Phillips Metropolitan CME Church in Hartford, Connecticut for 27 years. He is also former President of the Greater Hartford Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and founded the North Star Center for Human Development, Inc.

Walker is especially interested in getting young folks to be leaders in activism, and his promotion of Bread for the World has led to the participation of many Christian Methodist Episcopal congregations in Bread for the World’s annual Offering of Letters. Walker is a graduate of Langston University in Oklahoma and holds a Master of Divinity from the Phillips School of Theology of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
