Bio

Rev. David Street serves as the director of Next Gen Leadership & Engagement for Bread for the World. A native of Washington, D.C., Street has nearly 15 years of non-profit development and grassroots organizing experience.  

He is founder of StreetWork LLC, which specializes in content creation for digital and social media platforms, especially during an organization’s nascent social media journey. His work has been featured on DCTV and recognized by Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Office of Latino Affairs for helping to bring visibility to Black and Brown communities impacted by COVID-19.  

Street received his bachelor’s degree in political science from North Carolina A&T State University and a master’s degree in theology from Wesley Theological Seminary. He was recently accepted into the Executive Master’s in Leadership program at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. 

Street is ordained in the Progressive National Baptist Convention at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Washington, DC. He is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  

He has served on Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Commission of African American Affairs and was selected as a 2017 “National Christian Innovative Leader” by Duke University. Street has been featured in Black Enterprises “100 Modern Men” and the National Minority Quality Forum’s inaugural “40 Under 40” leaders in minority health.
