Washington, D.C. – Bread for the World today welcomed Larisa Friesen Hall as Vice President for Development. She will implement and lead a comprehensive development strategy for the organization, creating new programs and executing innovative fundraising initiatives to help Bread eliminate hunger in all its forms.
“We are excited to have Larisa join the Bread family,” said Rev. Eugene Cho, president and CEO of Bread for the World. “She brings a wealth of development and management experience which I believe will help Bread far exceed our fundraising goals. Larisa’s deep faith drives her passion for Bread’s mission to end hunger. I look forward to working with her.”
Larisa comes to Bread from Sojourners, where she served as vice president and chief advancement officer. She previously served as director of major gifts and director of advertising sales for the organization. Larisa recently received her Executive Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University and has a degree in international business and economic development from Eastern Mennonite University.
“I am honored to be joining an organization that brings Christians together across barriers and boundaries in the urgent call to end hunger,” said Friesen Hall. “Bread is clearly making a difference on Capitol Hill and across the country and world. I believe our mission is more critical than ever as the COVID-19-caused hunger crisis continues and tens of millions of people stand on the brink.”
